Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences

Academic discipline: AGR/13 Agricultural Chemistry

Curriculum vitae

Research fellow at the University of Bologna, Department of Agro-Food Sciences and Technologies (agricultural chemistry area) since November 2020, I carry out my research in the field of soil chemistry. The research interests are aimed in particular at the study of enzymatic activities in the soil, both in agriculture and forestry, in order to evaluate the quality and functionality of the soil.

Education
I graduated in Science and Technology for the Environment and Nature in 2013 at the University of Trieste, I graduated in Design and Management of Agro-Territorial, Forest and Landscape Ecosystems in 2015 at the University of Bologna. From March to October 2016 I was the holder of a scholarship at the Department of Agro-Food Sciences and Technologies (agricultural chemistry area) of the University of Bologna. In April 2020 I obtained the PhD in agricultural, environmental and food sciences and technologies at the University of Bologna.

Scientific activity
"QUABIO" project - Soil quality and ecosystem services: multifunctional interactions among soil.
"TARANTO" project - Energy for the Environment (technologies and processes for the abatement of pollutants and the remediation of contaminated sites with the recovery of raw materials and the production of totally green energy).

Teaching assistant
Since 2017 - teaching support in the soil chemistry laboratories of the "Soil Chemistry & Agricultural Biochemistry and Soil Fertility" course.
Since 2020 - "expert of the subject" for teaching "Soil chemistry and carbon cycle".

Thesis co-supervisor

A. Garsia, Bachelor's thesis in Soil Chemistry. Thesis title: Effects of nitrogen depositions on the hydrolytic enzymatic activities of a pre-alpine beech forest. A.A. 2018/2019.
M. De Bonis, Bachelor's thesis in Soil Chemistry. Thesis title: Chemical and biochemical analysis of the impact of management and processing on soil fertility and enzymatic activities. A.A. 2018/2019.
M. Viti, Master's thesis in Soil Chemistry. Thesis title: "Use of biochemcial indicators for soil quality evaluation under three different agronomic managements". A.A. 2019/2020.
G. Steffan, Master's thesis in Soil Chemistry. Thesis title: "Use of biostimulants in soil remediation: effect on biochemical properties and soil microbial community". A.A. 2019/2020.

Membership in scientific and editorial committees
Since 2016 I have been a member of the Italian Society of Soil Science (SISS).
Since 2018 I have been a member of the Italian Society of Agricultural Chemistry (SICA).

Awards and acknowledgments

2017 - "Young Researchers" Award for the work 'Changes in soil phenol oxidase activities due to long-term compost and mineral N supply in a walnut orchard' on the occasion of the XXXV SICA National Conference (Italian Society of Agricultural Chemistry).

2020 - "Fiorenzo Mancini Award 2020" from the Italian Society of Soil Science (SISS) for the doctoral thesis entitled "SOIL ENZYME ACTIVITIES AND BIOCHEMICAL INDEXES TO ASSESS SOIL QUALITY IN AGRONOMIC AND FORESTED ECOSYSTEMS".

Other activities
In 2018 I obtained the 24 credits of the teacher training program in anthropo-psycho-pedagogical subjects and in teaching methodologies and technologies.
