Martina Ferri earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Bologna in 2019 and 2021, respectively. In November 2021 she undertook her PhD studies at the department of Civil,Chemical, Enviornmental and Materials Engineering at the University of Bologna. Her current PhD research project aims to develop innovative bioplastic formulations for advanced applications. In particular, the valorization of wood tannins as biobased functional fillers for bioplastic composites is under investigation, exploring their antioxidant, antimicrobial, and stabilizing properties for different targets and aims, referring to many application fields such as packaging, coatings, and biomedical applications.
