Short Bio

Doctor Martina Caramaschi is a Ph.D. student in Data Science and Computation at the University of Bologna at the third year out of four. Her research work is carried out into the Physics Education research group of the University of Bologna, and she is affiliated to the Physics department.

Her research focus is on the changing of methods and methodologies used for textual data analysis in Science Education Research, in relation to AI technologies and mixed-methods.

She obtained the BSc degree in Physics in April 2018. Then, she continued her master studies in physics, enrolling the curriculum of Education and History of Physics. In 2020, she defended her master thesis on the exploration of what elements of nature of science, according to FRA (by Erduran & Dagher) were included and taught in the high school Physics course in Italy.

During the period of development of the master thesis, she collaborated with experts in the field of Science Education of the University of Oxford. This experience was possible thanks to an ERASMUS+ traineeship in March 2020, when she spent one month in Oxford at the department of education.
