Mathematical models of biological systems: Development and experimental validation of computational models of 3D cell cultures, that can be programmed to replicate the behaviour of different cell populations. These tools are integrated in the in vitro analysis of such cultures, to complement the experimental analysis and support its optimisation.
Computational systems for the analysis of biological data: Development of ad hoc software tools for the quantification of in vitro experiments. Particular focus on the analysis of microscopy images, the quantitative evaluation of cell shape and the behaviour of individual cells.
