Marilisa Cortesi, born in Ravenna on 1st April 1987, has completed in 2013 her master in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Bologna, graduating at the top of her class. While, in May 2017 she was awarded her PhD in Bioengineering.
At present she is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Global Fellow within a collaborative project between the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Information Engineering- "Guglielmo Marconi" (University of Bologna) and the School of Women's and Children's Health (University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia). This project aims at developing a computational simulator for treatment personalization in patients affected by ovarian cancer (for more information see https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/883172, https://www.gyncancerresearch.org/ithaca, https://www.mcbeng.it/en/).
The main research interests of Eng. Cortesi, PhD. are the mathematical modeling of biological processes and the development of computational tools for the analysis of biological data.
