Research interests are focused on animal welfare, veterinary legislation and the sustainability of livestock farming.

March 2020: PhD Degree in Veterinary Sciences (curriculum: Clinical Sciences), with focus on Animal Welfare and Veterinary Legislation at the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences (DIMEVET) of Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna (supervisor: Prof. Angelo Peli). Thesis: "New advances in estimating the age of dog puppies for medico-legal purposes".

Adjunct professor for the teaching courses "Clinical legal medicine and animal welfare" and "Intra- and extra-EU movement of animals and specimes" in the Professional 2st level master's program "Veterinary Legal and Forensic Medicine" (University of Bologna).
