Contract professor for the University of Bologna, he carries out his research in the construction sector. His research interests are aimed in particular at brick masonry constructions and the safety issues against fire in the civil construction sector. He currently focuses his research on safety in protected and restricted buildings, providing the necessary functions for public access.
Training
Graduated in Mining Engineering in 1995 at the School of Engineering of the University of Bologna.
Academic career
After a few years of collaboration with the Building Recovery and Conservation course (from 2015 to 2020) for the University of Bologna, in 2020 he became an adjunct professor of Technical Architecture at the Alma Mater Studiorum.
Teaching activity
Since 2015 he has been teaching continuously at various courses for Bachelor's and Master's Degrees for the Engineering School of the University of Bologna. He is currently adjunct professor of Technical Architecture for the Degree Course in Civil Engineering and adjunct professor of Building Design for the Master's Degree in Building Engineering-Architecture at the University of Bologna. Between 2007 and 2011 he taught Topography at the High Schools for Surveyors of Bologna.
Scientific activity
He has participated in research programs of UNI, the Italian Institute of Unification, in the technical body UNI / CT 011 / GL 07 "Fire safety engineering (mixed fire behavior / active protection against fire)". Since November 2021 he has been a member of the Scientific Technical Committee of SOS Archives, an association that brings together professionals from the archival sector to promote the culture of prevention and management of emergencies, in particular for accidental situations that can damage archives, libraries and cultural heritage.
Other activities
In 2014 he was designated by the Ministry of University and Scientific Research as an effective member of the II Commission for the State examination for qualification to practice the profession of Engineer, section A and B. Since 2019 he has been an aggregate expert member of the II Commission for the State examination for qualification to practice the profession of Engineer, section A and B.
