Teaching

Dissertation topics suggested by the teacher.

1) Thesis Project Hypothesis: "Study of the effects of organic and chemical fertilizers on crops of broad agricultural interest in the Po Valley using satellite image analysis (NDVI)."

Aims: to produce a paper (Thesis) that analyzes the performance of different crops (during agronomic trial) following the application of different organic and chemical treatments. This will be done through the analysis of satellite data (NDVI) and grain production data. A study of soil chemical and physical conditions at the end of the test should be included.

The candidate will gain the experience to properly manage plant nutrition through the use of organic and chemical fertilizers also through the use of satellite technologies.

2) Thesis project hypothesis: "Study of water stress using satellite image analysis (NDWI) following the application of organic and chemical fertilizers on crops of broad agricultural interest in the Po Valley."

Aims: To produce a paper (Thesis) that analyzes the level of water stress following the application of different treatments during an agronomic trial. This will be done through analysis of satellite data (NDWI) and grain production data. A study of the soil situation at the end of the trial should be expected.

The candidate will gain the experience to understand the critical aspects related to the use of organic products in the open field (e.g., salinity of products), with the aim of properly managing plant nutrition through the use of organic and chemical fertilizers also through the use of satellite technologies.

3) Thesis Project Hypothesis: "Study of nutrient use efficiency (N; P) following the application of different types of compost on crops of broad agricultural interest in the Po Valley."

Aims: To produce a paper (Thesis) analyzing of the nutrient use efficiency (N; P) following the application of different types of compost on crops of broad agricultural interest in the Po Valley." This will be done through chemical analysis of plant tissues and grain production data. A study of the physicochemical situation of the soil at the end of the experiment should be expected.

The candidate will gain the experience to understand the deeper aspects related to nutrient use efficiency by major field crops, a key aspect in the perspective of new EU policies.

4) Thesis Project Hypothesis: "Study of the variation of soil organic carbon and its functionality following the application of different types of compost on crops of broad agricultural interest in the Po Valley."

Aims: To produce a paper (Thesis) that analyzes the variation of soil organic carbon and its functionality following the application of different types of compost on crops of broad agricultural interest in the Po Valley. This will be done through soil chemistry analysis.

The candidate will gain the experience to understand the deeper aspects related to the conservation and increase of soil organic carbon, a key aspect in the perspective of new community policies.
