The research activity deals with applied economic studies and industrial policy across various industries, territories and countries, including Europe, the United States and other emerging economies such as China and South Korea.

Specifically, this line of research focuses on industrial policies -in particular selective interventions- and on their role in the context of different models of production organization.

Considerable attention is paid to the theoretical and practical implications for industrial policies and their ever closer connection with the issues of human development and the resilience of socio-economic systems.

Other research topics concern the processes of structural change in the economy and society and the role that industrial policies can play in promoting the economic, social and environmental sustainability of these processes.
