Education

He graduated in 2011 in Psychology Studies and Research at the Department of Psychology 2 of the University "La Sapienza" of Rome. The three-year thesis entitled "Pro-environmental behaviour in the workplace: qualitative research in the field, the case of a large Italian company in the energy sector" led him to enrol in the Master's Degree in Work and Organizational Psychology at the "Alma Mater Studiorum" University of Bologna, based in Cesena (FC). He obtained his Master's degree in 2013 (108/110 - "Organizational factors and psychosocial processes in inter-organizational governing teams: An exploratory study") and, after some professional experiences in the Innovation and Organizational Assessement Unit of the Local Health Authority of Modena (from 2013 to 2014) and training experiences in the CE.TRANS research group (Centre for Transitions at Work from 2014 to 2015 for the University of Bologna), he joined the "Human Factors, Risk and Safety" Research Group in 2015 and obtained his PhD in Psychology in 2019 at the University "Alma Mater Studiorum" of Bologna. In 2019 he was a visiting PhD under the supervision of Prof. Dick de Waard at the Department of Behavioural and Social Sciences of the University of Groningen (The Netherlands), where he researched human factors, gender and age differences regarding the acceptance of new technologies aimed at increasing safety.

Academic career

He became a PhD candidate in 2016 and in 2020, assumed the position of Junior Assistant Researcher in the disciplinary sector PSI-06, Work and Organisational Psychology, at the Department of Psychology of the University of Bologna. From 2022, he is a Senior Assistant Researcher in the disciplinary sector PSI-06, Work and Organisational Psychology, at the Department of Psychology of the University of Bologna.

Teaching activities

Since 2020, he has been engaged in teaching activities within the international course "Work-Organizational and Personnel Psychology" and the Doctorate of Psychology of the Department of Psychology at the University of Bologna. From 2021, he has also been involved in teaching activities for the international Master's Degree course in "Chemical Innovation and Regulation" and for the Bachelor's Degree in International Development and Cooperation.

He is a thesis supervisor at the Department of Psychology of the University of Bologna, focusing on the following themes: implementation of digital interventions for promoting mental health and well-being in the workplace, acceptance and impact of new technologies at work, integration of Artificial Intelligence systems at work, and cognitive workload in Industry 5.0.

He held a course entitled "Introduction to European project design: project management tools" within the PhD programme of the Department of Sociology and Economic Law of the University of Bologna.

He has participated and supported in the teaching activities for the course "Human Factor, Risk and Safety" within the international course "Work-Organizational and Personnel Psychology" of the Department of Psychology of the University of Bologna.

In 2017 he conducted a lecture for the module "Current Trends in WOP Psychology" within the international course "Work-Organizational and Personnel Psychology" of the Department of Psychology of the University of Bologna.

Scientific activity

He has participated in numerous international research programmes, including:

European FP7 project - "Low Carbon at Work" (GA 265155) at the Interuniversity Centre for Research in Environmental Psychology of the University "La Sapienza" of Rome. Later, he was involved in the European research project H2020 "XCycle" (GA 635975) at the Department of Psychology, University of Bologna. At the same time, he carries out support and supervision research activities in the European H2020 projects "BRIGAID" (GA 700699) and "STEPbySTEP" (GA779963). He also participates in the initial phase of the research project "Nucleon", funded within the joint Israel-Italy innovation programme "Industrial Track 2018".

Finally, after a short period of collaboration in the European H2020 project "PERCEPTIONS" (GA833870), he joined the coordination team of the European H2020 project "H-WORK - Multilevel interventions to promote mental health in SMEs and public workplaces". (GA 847386).

Since 2020 he is a Member of the LAV.OR.I.O. Research Lab (Work, Organisation, Innovation and Orientation Psychology). Among the main areas covered are well-being and work-related stress (in particular burnout), job careers (design and support, orientation), innovative organizational processes, human resources (development and talent assessment), human factors and ergonomics (job design and safety), ageing and work.

Membership in scientific and editorial committees

Since 2020 he has been a member of the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health editorial board as Topic Editor.

He regularly referees for international journals such as:

"Safety Science", "Work, Aging and Retirement", "Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology", "Frontiers in Psychology", “Computers in Human Behavior”, "PlosONE".

Since 2016 he is a member of the Human Factors Ergonomic Society - Europe Chapter.

Since 2018 he is an affiliate member of the Italian Association of Psychologists (AIP) for the Psychology for Organizations Section.

Since 2019 he is an affiliate member of the European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology (EAWOP).

Since 2020 he is representing the ECARE - Early Career Researchers' network group for his section at AIP.

Since 2021, he is an affiliate member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP).

Since 2022 he is an affiliate member of the European Academy of Occupational Health Psychology (EAOHP).
