Associate professor at the Department of Mathematics, University of Bologna. In 1999 he received a PhD in Operational Research at the Management School, Imperial College, London. He obtained the National Scientific Qualification as Full Professor for Mathematical Methods of Economics, Finance and Actuarial Sciences (13/D4) in 2014 and Operational Research (01/A6) in 2017.
His major research and consulting interests are in the area of quantitative methods for the management science. In particular, he works on exact and heuristic solution methods based on mathematical programming and combinatorial optimization approaches.
He has published a number of papers in international and national journals and books, he has given a number of talks at international and national conferences, he has been referee for a number of international journals, and he has been in the organising committee of some international and national conferences.
