The scientific activity is addressed at analysing the cellular
and molecular mechanisms responsible for the mutagenic/carcinogenic
activity of xenobiotics. Technical experience includes a wide range
of genotoxicity tests, several enzymatic and microscopical
methodologies and numerous flow cytometric techniques for the
analysis of different cellular and molecular events (genetic
damage, citotoxicity, cell cycle, cell proliferation ,apoptosis,
necrosis, , mithocondrial transmembrane potential, levels of
proteins involved in different cellular pathways, levels of
intracellular Ca2+ ), capillary electrophoresis. More recently
innovative experimental approaches “lab-on a chip” have been
developed to analyse RNA damage.
