Curriculum vitae

Assistant Professor of Statistics at the Department of Statistical Sciences, University of Bologna, since 2005. Her research focuses on predictive meteorological models, machine learning methods applied to Natural Language Processing, and social network analysis. She is currently engaged in the analysis of big data from social media using Transformer-based models for language processing.

Education
She graduated in Statistics and Computer Science for Business at the University of Bologna in 1998 with full marks (110/110 cum laude), and earned a Ph.D. in Statistical Methodology for Scientific Research at the same university in 2002, with a dissertation on models for expert opinion aggregation.

Academic Career
After working as a research fellow (2000–2004), she has been serving as Assistant Professor (SSD STAT-01/A) at the Department of Statistical Sciences, University of Bologna, since January 2005.

Teaching Activity
Since 2005, she has been regularly teaching at the School of Political Sciences, University of Bologna (Forlì campus), where she is responsible for the Statistics (A–L) course. She integrates traditional teaching with innovative methodologies such as Flipped Classroom, Blended Learning, and digital tools (WooClap, Panopto, Virtuale, Teams).

Research Activity and Projects
She has participated in numerous research projects funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MIUR, PRIN projects), focused on latent structure analysis and the evaluation of educational processes. She has also contributed to the organization of several national and international scientific conferences and is actively involved in scientific dissemination.

She has served as a peer reviewer for international journals such as Scientific Reports (Springer Nature), Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services (Elsevier), and Journal of Medical Internet Research.

In 2024, she received recognition from Scientific Reports (Nature Portfolio): her article “Twitter users' perceptions of AI-based e-learning technologies” was selected among the Top 100 Sustainability Papers published in the journal.
