Lucia Ferrari is currently Junior Assistant Professor at the Departement of Civil, Chemical, Environmental and Materials Engineering -DICAM - at University of Bologna. After her studies in Physics of Matter at University of Milan, Italy, she got her PhD in 2011 in the field of Construction Chemistry at the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology in Zurich, EMPA, in collaboration with the Technical University of Munich, TUM. The aim of her PhD thesis was the characterization and quantification of dispersion forces of superplasticizer at the solid-liquid interface, and consequent effect on the rheology of cementious materials. Afterwards, Lucia performed 9 additional years of research in the global R&D center of CHRYSO, a French company specialized in admixtures for concrete and cement, where she worked developing breakthrough technologies for construction application. Since 2022, she redirected her career toward academic research with a project about new sustainable construction materials.
