Luca Pasquini is a Full Professor at the University of Bologna since 2024, exploring the world of materials at the nanoscale. His research investigates how tiny structures—nanoparticles and nanostructures—can be engineered to reveal new properties and unlock innovative energy solutions.
He focuses on metal hydrides for solid-state hydrogen storage, developing materials that could make hydrogen a practical and sustainable energy carrier. At the same time, he works on artificial photosynthesis and green hydrogen production, using semiconducting oxide nanostructures to transform sunlight into clean chemical energy, bringing a taste of the sun into tomorrow’s energy technologies.
His work spans several international collaborations and has resulted in around 135 peer-reviewed publications and presentations at more than 40 international conferences. His contributions are recognized with an h-index of 36 (Google Scholar) and 32 (Scopus).
