Short Bio

Archaeologist.

Junior assistant professor at the Department of Cultural Heritage of the University of Bologna and teacher in charge of the courses of Archaeology of Pre-Islamic Historical South Asia and Archaeology of the Indo-Iranian Borderland.

Since 1999 he collaborated with several archaeological missions in Asia,

He is italian deputy director of the Joint Iranian-Italian Archaeological Mission in Fars (ICAR-Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna).

Since 2008 he is active in projects related to the archeology of Iraqi Kurdistan.

Since 2021 he is  Scientific Director of the Italian Historical-Archaeological Mission in Kurdistan (MiSAK) of ISMEO, the International Association for Mediterranean and Oriental Studies, and of the International Institute of Kurdish Culture in Rome, working in Iraqi Kurdistan (KRI).

Before the start of the classes, dr Colliva is usually willing to receive students on Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.; however, in view of the many trips to Italy and abroad planned from September to December, it is recommended to make contact in advance by email. Dr Colliva can be contacted by email (luca.colliva2@unibo.it or luca.colliva@gmail.com) and is also available for meetings on the Teams platform.
