Short Bio


Degree in Cultural Heritage at the University of Bologna; he earned a PhD in "Philological and Literary Studies in the Ancient Near East and Iran Pre-Islamic" at La Sapienza University in Rome.

Since 1999 he collaborates with varous archaeological missions working in Asia, among which the Italian Archaeological Mission in Pakistan (ISMEO) and the Iranian-Italian Archaeological Mission in Fars (ICAR-Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna).

Since 2008 he is active in projects related to the archeology of Iraqi Kurdistan and since 2018 he is deputy director of the Italian Archaeological Mission in Iraqi Kurdistan (MAIKI) of Sapienza University of Rome, active in Erbil (KRG, Iraq) and Sulaimaniyah (KRG province, Iraq).

Since 2016 he is Adjunct Professor and teacher in charge of the course of Archeologia dell'India Storica Preislamica (Archaeology of Historical Pre-Islamic India)  in the second cycle degree History, Preservation and Enhancement of Artistic and Archaeological Heritage and Landscape, Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna, Ravenna Campus.
