Luca Bellan (Chioggia, 5 April 1997) is a PhD candidate in Law and Management of Sustainability at the University of Siena, where he is specializing in Commercial Law (tutor: Prof. Ciro Gennaro Corvese).
After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Economics from the University of Padua in July 2019 and a Master’s degree in Economics and Law from the University of Bologna in October 2022, in February 2024 he graduated cum laudefrom the second-level Master’s programme in European Private Law at Sapienza University of Rome.
Between February and September 2022, he completed a six-month curricular internship at the Department of Sociology and Law of the Economy of the University of Bologna, where he deepened his research on financial markets law, listed companies law, and European Union banking law.
From September 2023 to September 2025, he served as a Teaching Tutor at the University of Bologna for the course European Capital Markets and Banking Regulation within the Master’s programmes Law and Economics of International Finance and Quantitative Finance.
From February to October 2024, he was Teaching Tutor for the course European Union Law within the Bachelor’s programme in International Development and Cooperation.
Since December 2025, he has been Teaching Tutor for the course Foundations of Risk Regulation in Financial Marketswithin the Master’s programme in Law and Economics of International Finance at the University of Bologna.
Since January 2026, he has been a member of the Junior Network of the European Society for Banking and Financial Law (AEDBF).
Starting from February 2026, he has been a Visiting PhD Scholar at the Amsterdam Centre for Law & Economics of the University of Amsterdam (supervisor: Prof. Alessio M. Pacces).
In May 2023, thanks to his essay entitled “Reflections on Financial Stability Regulation”, he received the “Economia e Diritto” Award, established on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the homonymous academic journal.
In June of the same year, he was awarded the “America Giovani Prize for University Talent”, granted by the Italia USA Foundation to the top one thousand Italian graduates whose academic paths align with the Foundation’s core objectives.
