Curriculum vitae

PhD student in Applied Physics at University of Bologna since November 2020, his research interests are in the fields of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Artificial Intelligence techniques applied on biophysical data or biomedical databases. He is currently working on onco-haematologic diseases, virus genomics, PPG and ECG signals, and epidemiological curves.

Education

2018 - Bachelor’s degree in Physics at University of Bologna with 106/110.

From Oct/2019 to Dec/2019 – Traineeship abroad as researcher in biostatistics at UMC Utrecht Julius Center, working on vascular Biological Ageing estimation from smartphone acquired PPG signals under the supervision of professor Gastone Castellani and Hae-Won Uh. Such work led to a scientific paper published on Scientific Reports and orally presented to the 30TH International Biometric Conference of Seoul in 2020.

2020 – Master’s degree in Applied Physics at University of Bologna with 110 cum laude, with the thesis “Estimation of biological vascular ageing via photoplethysmography: a comparison between statistical learning and deep learning”.

Teaching Activities

From 2018 to 2020 – Tutor of Mathematics and Physics at Applied Farmaceutical Sciences faculty of University of Bologna.

Other Activities

Jul/2019 – Participated to the Summer School “Physical Sensing and Processing” of Unviersity of Bologna.

Feb/2021 – Contributed talk in ImforFUTURE Ageing workshop entitled “Prediction of vascular aging based on smartphone acquired PPG signals”.

Mar/2021 X-PRIZE 500K $ Pandemic Response Challenge finalist with the “Bologna Against COVID” group.
