Lidia Bonifati is currently a Researcher (fixed-term) in Comparative Public Law at the Department of Legal Studies of the University of Bologna. Previously, she was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Comparative Public Law at the same Department (2025), and at the Baffi Research Centre of Bocconi University (2024-2025).
Dr. Bonifati holds a joint Ph.D. in Legal Studies from the University of Bologna and the University of Antwerp (2023). She held visiting positions at the School of Law of the Queen’s University of Belfast (2018), at the Department of Law of the European University Institute (2021-2022), at the EURAC Institute for Comparative Federalism (2022), and at the Oxford Internet Institute of the University of Oxford (2025).
Her research interests include constitutional design for divided societies, minority rights, asymmetric federalism, legal and religious pluralism, and comparative research methodologies.
