Ten years after the disappearance of Giulio Regeni in Cairo on 25 January 2016, I feel it is important to share some resources to invite you to learn about his story.

Documentary “Giulio Regeni - Tutto il male del mondo” by Simone Manetti (2026), which will be screened on 2, 3 and 4 February at the Cinema Teatro Gallieranbsp;(Bologna)

Interview with Paola and Claudio Regeni, Giulio's parents, on "Propaganda Live" (24/03/2023)

I would also like to suggest some articles that provide further insight into the legal aspects of the Regeni case:

Acconciamessa, Lorenzo. "Balancing the Interest in Prosecuting International Crimes against the Fair Trial Guarantees: The Italian Constitutional Court's Judgment in the Regeni Case on the Prosecution of Torture In Absentia",nbsp;International Criminal Law Review 24, no. 2 (2024): 187-214

Buscemi, Martina, and Federica Violi. "Atti di tortura e ricorsi interstatali: prospettive nell’ambito della Convenzione ONU contro la tortura, e oltre", Diritti umani e diritto internazionale, no. 3 (2021): 613-655

Parisi, Piergiuseppe, and Mattia Pinto. "In Pursuit of Greater Accountability for Torture: The Case of Giulio Regeni after Judgment no. 192/2023 of the Italian Constitutional Court,"nbsp;The Italian Yearbook of International Law Onlinenbsp;33, no. 1 (2024): 287-308

Finally, to learn more about Giulio's profile as a doctoral researcher, below you can find one of the studies he was working on while conducting his fieldwork in Cairo:

Vidican Auktor, Georgeta, and Regeni, Giulio.
Asymmetries, Courts, and Comparative Constitutional Law explores constitutional asymmetries in divided multi-tiered systems as a dynamic constitutional model to accommodate ethnocultural diversity through a comparative analysis of 12 constitutional systems from both the Global North and the Global South. It offers a unique integrated analysis of asymmetries as designed by the constitutional orders and interpreted by courts.

The monograph has been published by Brill, within the Series "Studies in Territorial and Cultural Diversity Governance", and is freely accessible while connected to AlmaWifi or through the proxy for remote access (with Unibo account):nbsp;
