Curriculum vitae

Scientific activity

Since February 2023 Fixed-term researcher type a, the focus of his research is on the regulation of carbon metabolism under physiological and stress conditions, especially water and osmotic, with studies on plant. In vitro work focuses on the study of redox regulation (disulfide bridges and glutathionylation) of enzymes involved in the Calvin-Benson cycle and leaf starch degradation.

Since 2019 2023 research fellow at the Laboratory of Molecular Physiology of Plants of Prof. Paolo Trost, involved in the PON Origami project in for the growth of microalgae of the genus Chlorella on dairy wastes for the production of compounds of interest and the production of cellulo-ligninolytic enzymes for the valorization of plant biomass.

Studies

He graduated in Biological Sciences in 2013 at the School of Sciences of the University of Bologna, then he obtained a Master's Degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology in 2015 at the School of Pharmacy, Biotechnology and Sport Sciences of the University of Bologna. Finally he obtained his PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology by discussing a thesis entitled "Study of carbon metabolism in plants: from enzymes to organism, from physiology to stress" in 2019.

Between 2017 and 2018, he served as a Visiting PhD Student at the laboratory of Prof. Alison M. Smith at the John Innes Centre, Norwich (UK).

Teaching

Since 2023 he has been teaching in the Genomics degree and the Molecular and Cell Biology degree with the courses Plant Functional Genomics and Synthetic Biology for Plant Molecular Engineering, respectively.

For the academic years 2020/2021 and 2021/2022, he is an adjunct lecturer for the Plant Physiology course (SSD BIO/04) at the University of Ferrara.

Since 2016 he has worked as tutor for the Plant Biochemistry Laboratory of the Physiology of Stress and Dynamics Redox in Plants (Module 2) within the Master's Degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology.

In 2015 he was Tutor of the Master's Degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology.
