Short Bio

Full Professor at the University of Bologna since 2007, his research focuses on animal welfare and protection during transport and slaughter. His scientific interests specifically address the impact of slaughter procedures on the quality of fresh meat and processed products. A former Head of the Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences and former Director of the University's Experimental Farm, he is actively involved in numerous national and international research projects, collaborating with several prestigious European institutions.
