Leonardo Nanni Costa

Full professor at the University of Bologna since 2007, he carries out his research on the welfare and protection of animals during transport and slaughter. The research interests are directed in particular to  the negative effects of slaughter procedures on fresh meat and processed products. Former director of the Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences, he is involved in national and international research projects and collaborates with several European Institutes. Currently, he is the director of the agricultural experimental farm at the University of Bologna.
