University degree in Veterinary Medicine achieved in 1989 at the
University of Bologna. Specialization in Veterinary Public Health
achieved in 1997 at the University of Parma.
In 1992-1994: research/study grant at the National Institute for
Wildlife for the research project “Wildlife, diseases and its role
in the epidemiology of human and domestic diseases”.
In 1994-2000: research/study grants and research contracts at
the Experimental Institute for Zooprophylaxis of the Veneto Region.
The work is mainly dedicated to serology, parasitology of domestic
and wild animals; to health wildlife management; to the
implementation of a pilot project for the epidemiological
monitoring of wildlife diseases; to the technical and scientific
coordination of diagnostic activity in wildlife.
Researcher of the University of Bologna from the 1st April 2000
(field: Parasitology and parasitological diseases of domestic
animals); member of the Dipartimento di Protezione e
Valorizzazione Agroalimentare (DIPROVAL) from 1st April 2000 to 31
October 2006 and of the Dipartimento di Sanità Pubblica Veterinaria
e Patologia Animale (DSPVPA) from 1st November 2006.
From Jenuary the 1st is member of the new Dipartimento di
Scienze Mediche Veterinarie (first acronym DSMVet, now DIMEVET).
Teaching activity since 1992, mainly about wildlife health
management, parasitology, epidemiology and statistics.
Chief of the Laboratory of Parasitology and Parasite Diseases of
the Department from December 20th 2007 to April 1st 2010.
Reviewer for "Veterinary Parasitology"; "Journal of Veterinary
Medicine and Animal Health"; "Journal of Wildlife Diseases"; "Hystrix"
Member from 1992 of the scientific association “Società italiana
di ecopatologia della fauna - SIEF” (Italian society of wildlife

since 2001.

di parassitologia - SoIPa” (Italian society of parasitology).
