Main focus of research activity is the study of reactive and repair mechanisms of the nervous system following experimental and spontaneous lesions, using in vivo and in vitro models, according to the bench-to-bedside approach of the translational medicine. The new lab, named BioPharmaNet_TransLab (belonging to the high-technology network of Emilia Romagna) is aimed to develop and test innovative medicine for neurodegenerative diseases, also including cell therapies based on embryonic (animal-derived) and somatic stem cells from different tissues and animal species.
