Luca Favero

He works in the Hospital Care Unit of the Directorate-General for Personal Care, Health and Welfare of the Emilia-Romagna Region, where he is responsible for appropriateness reviews and for the coding systems used for inpatient activity.

Previously, he worked in the Medical Directorate of the Sant’Orsola-Malpighi University Hospital in Bologna, where he served as Head of Evaluative Epidemiology and Health Information Systems. In this role, he evaluated hospital activity, with particular focus on monitoring and controlling the quality, effectiveness and appropriateness of the services provided.

At the University Hospital of Ferrara, he was Head of the Research and Development Office, where his main duties concerned research governance through the monitoring, coordination and support of the hospital’s research activities.

He is, and has been, principal investigator of several major regional and national Health Services Research projects.
