My PhD thesis project is about low carbon biorefining process for the chemical and energy valorization of agro-food waste.
Specifically I carry out several strategies to valorize biomass via biorefinery approach. As concerning the energy side, new designs of 3D printed abiotic glucose biofuel cells have been investigated.
As concern the chemical side, new cosmetic emulsions have been developed, by biotechnological deconstruction of biomass into its components and their recombination into a cosmetic product with remarkable antioxidant capacity.
