Short Bio

Ilaria Santoemma is a Post-doc in Political Philosophy at DIRPOLIS Institute in Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa.

Ph.D. in Human Rights and Global Politics (Curriculum Political Philosophy) from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna with the thesis: "A Cartography of the Posthumanities. From Epistemologies to Political Philosophy" . She is member of the PRI (Posthuman Research Institute) at Brock University.

Her main research areas are: Political Philosophy, Critical Posthumanities, Philosophy of Technology, Gender and Women’s Studies. Her research revolves around critical feminist epistemologies, the thought of Donna Haraway and neomaterialist thinkers, posthumanist studies, and the production of subjectivity in the chains of contemporary biocapitalism. She has worked on feminist theories and contemporary political philosophy with a Foucauldian focus.

In 2020 she was a visiting Ph.D. student at the Posthuman Research Institute of Brock University (ON, Canada) under the supervision of Prof. Christine Daigle.

She is coordinator and lecturer of the science module of the Master in Gender Studies and Policies at RomaTre University.
