Ambassador (ret). In the Italian diplomatic service from 1964 to
2007, was posted in Algiers, Lausanne, London, Moscow, the UN in
New York, and Permanent Representative to OSCE in Vienna. Was
Director of the European Institute for Security Studies in Paris.
He also served as Deputy Chief of Cabinet to the Minister of
Foreign Affairs and Diplomatic Advisor to Ministers of Defense and
the Interior. Taught at the University of the Valle d'Aosta and
contributed numerous articles to various foreign policy magazines.
