Born in Cosenza (Italy) in 1964, I received my masters degree in
Romance Phylology at the University "La Sapienza" of Rome with a
thesis on a manuscript collection of poems by Provençal troubadours
(Paris, BN, ms. f. fr. 15211). For research work I spent several
months in Paris and was awarded with a grant of the «Unione
Accademica Nazionale-Accademia dei Lincei» which allowed me to
study with Jacques Monfrin (École des Chartes) and Geneviève
Brunel Lobrichon (Institut de Recherches et d'Histoire des
Textes). For the preparation of my PhD I sojourned repeatedly
in France and Switzerland. In 1992 I passed the examaniation for
teaching in secondary and higher secondary schools. In 1994 I
obtained a PhD degree in Romance and Italian Philology with a
thesis intitled Il frammento inedito [R]esplendiente stella
de albur di Giacomino Pugliese e la poesia italiana delle
origini and awarded with the international prize of the
Accademia di Studi italo-tedeschi / Akademie
deutsch-italienischer Studienfor the academic year 1993-1994.
The thesis has been published as vol. 304 in the series «Beihefte
zur Zeitschrift für Romanische Philologie», by Max Niemeyer Verlag
in Tübingen (Germany). I continued my scientific and didactic
activities as a «cultore della materia» (tutor) of Romance
Philology at the Faculty of Letters of the University "La Sapienza"
of Rome and maintaining always close contacts with the foreign
libraries and universities attended earlier and participating at
numerous international congresses in Italy and Europe. From 1995 to
1997 I was granted wiht a post-doctoral scholarship of the
University "La Sapienza" of Rome. Since July 2000 I am
«ricercatrice» (Assistant professor) of Romance Phiolology at the
Faculty of Arts of the University "Alma mater studiorum" of
Bologna. From the academic year 2000-2001 onwards I have a teaching
job, since 2003 I am «ricercatrice confermata» (tenure as assistant
professor). I studied the literature in langue d'oc and its
manuscript tradition; the beginnings of Italian poetry for which I
found and published the oldest written evidence of a poem of the
Sicilian school of poetry; the literature at the court of Frederick
II of Swabia, Dante. Moreover, I dealt with the history of
philology and the historical method, the theme of pilgrimage, I
wrote articles in the Dizionario Biografico degli Italiani
and in the Enciclopedia Fridericiana on behalf of the
Istituto dell'Enciclopedia Italiana. Further I dealt with the
Italian language of southern Italy in the thirteenth and fourteenth
centuries, with Gianfranco Contini as critic and translator, the
twelfth century tradition of Boetius' Consolatio
Philosophiae, in particular with its Italian and French
vernacular expressions. I studied the literature of the langue
d'oïl, particularly the epic poetry and the romance as well as
their tradition in thirteenth- and fourteenth-century-Italy. I
organized seminaries and international congresses. I collaborated
and still collaborate in national research projects. I was a member
of scientific comittees for exihibitons. I planned and coordinated
the work of Italian and foreign colleagues for several books. I
collaborate at the collective editorial enterprise «CPS.
Edizione Nazionale della Scuola poetica siciliana» under the
auspices of the Centro di Studi filologici e linguistici siciliani,
directed by C. Di Girolamo and R. Coluccia, in print for “I
Meridiani” by Mondadori. I participate in the project LIO "Lirica
italiana delle Origini" promoted by the Fondazione Ezio
Franceschini in collaboration with the OVI and the Accademia della
Crusca, coordinated by Lino Leonardi. I am a member of the library
commission of the Departement of Modern Foreign Languages of the
University of Bologna and of the Departement's Council. I belong to
the staff of professors of the DRIST Dottorato di Ricerca in
Scienza della Traduzione. . I am a member of the following
scientific associations and organizations: “Société de Linguistique
romane”, “Società Italiana di Filologia Romanza”, “Association
Internationale d'Etudes Occitanes”, "Société Rencesvals". I am a
member of the scientific board of the journals "Francofonia" and
"L'Ellisse. Studi storici di letteratura italiana", "Quaderni di Filologia romanza della
Facoltà di Lettere dell'Università di Bologna”, "Memorie Domenicane", "Italies.Littératures, civilisation, societé". I am scientific director responsible for the editorial series "Filologicamente. Studi e testi romanzi"
