Curriculum vitae

PhD candidate at the Normal Anatomy Service of the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences of the University of Bologna since 2021 (Tutor: Prof. Cristiano Bombardi), she carries out her research in the field of Neuroanatomy and the serotonergic and endocannabinoid systems. The research interests are aimed in particular at the study of the central nervous system of the various species of veterinary interest and specifically at the brain areas involved in behavioral manifestations and in the perception of pain and at the serotonergic and endocannabinoid systems. The techniques used mainly concern immunohistochemistry. She is currently carrying out her research project entitled: "Anatomical organization of the amygdaloid complex and its relationship with the serotonergic system", as well as further research activities carried out at the Normal Anatomy Service and in collaboration with Dimevet and external researchers.

Training

Graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 2021 at the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences of the University of Bologna with a thesis entitled: "Distribution of the CB1 cannabinoid receptor in the lateral nucleus of the dog amygdaloid complex".

In 2017 she carried out a study period abroad through the Erasmus+ program at the University of Veterinary Medicine of Latvia.

In 2022 she completes the "Medical Cannabis in Veterinary Medicine" course organized by Cannabiscienza and financed by Enecta.

In 2023 she carried out a research period abroad through the Erasmus for traineeship program between the Department of Physiology and Biochemistry of the University of Malta and the IMM (Institute of Molecular Medicine) in Lisbon where she explored electrophysiology and behavioral studies.
