Curriculum vitae

I was born in Montecchio Emilia (RE), on 15/04/1995.

Since 2021 I'm a PhD student in Health Science and Technology at the Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna, with the project "Biomechanical and clinical evidences of vertebral metastases to predict the risk of fracture", under the supervision of Prof. Luca Cristofolini. My research focuses on deformation measurement techniques such as Digital Image Correlation and Digital Volume Correlation and in vitro and in situ mechanical tests for the characterization of bone tissue.

In 2021 I was a Research Fellow at the Department of Industrial Engineering (DIN) of the University of Bologna, with the focus on assessing the competence of bone structures in the presence of lesions and metastases. I did a training period abroad at the University of Sheffield (UK), under the supervision of Dr. Enrico Dall'Ara, on the following research topics: Biomechanics, micro-computed tomography imaging, nano-computed tomography imaging, nanoindentation mechanical tests.

In 2021 I obtained the Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, at the University of Bologna, with the experimental thesis entitled "In vitro characterization of the three-dimensional strain pattern in human vertebrae affected by metastases" in Mechanics of Biological Tissues, under the supervised by Prof. Luca Cristofolini.Winning thesis of the ESB-ITA 2021 Master Thesis Award.

In 2018 I obtained the Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Engineering, at La Sapienza - University of Rome, with a thesis entitled "Analysis of the mechanical characteristics of the bone tissue of an animal model of fibrous dysplasia" in Biomedical Instrumentation, under the supervision of Prof. Franco Marinozzi.
