MAIN ACTIVITIES IN COMMUNICATION

While pursuing my professional activity, even when engaged in roles not strictly related to
communication, I always paid particular attention to this domain. After being involved in market
research, since 1971 I have coordinated external relations, too. In '69 - '70 I held market research
and communication courses at the European Center for Business Studies (CESA). From 1970 to
1973 I was a public relations consultant of UNRAE (the Association of Foreign car manufacturers
operating in Italy in the trade and distribution of cars, trucks and commercial vehicles, buses,
caravans and motorhomes). Later, after being the head of the press office at Alfa Romeo, as
mentioned above, I was member for ten years and for five years vice-president of the Regional
Committee for radio and television service in Emilia Romagna, and also for four mandates
auditors of the Journalists’ Order and member of the Emilia Romagna press association. I am
currently an auditor of the foundation of the Emilia Romagna Journalists' Association and hold
courses for journalists organized by the Foundation and the Order, which are valid for obtaining
the training credits needed to keep the Order in attendance. I have also been teaching journalism
at Mater of University of Bologna, Unibo, and at the Journalists’ Order in Emilia Romagna.

By founding Econometrica, I returned to full-time communication problems. This company has
the purpose of carrying out economics studies and conducting ongoing communication
campaigns on mostly economic issues. In particular, Econometrica is constantly studying the
problems of the institution or client company and the context in which it operates. It then reveals
topics that can be subject to communication and can be related to the customer's name. It then
elaborates the contents of the communication which is then directed to newspapers, internet and
radio and television broadcasters.
In 1993 I founded the Centro Studi Promotor. It is a research study specialized in auto market and
automotive industry that conducts a monthly economic survey by interviewing a sample of 400
dealers. The results of each survey are communicated to the information authorities and are
systematically taken up by newspapers and periodic press, internet and aired by broadcasters.
Since 1993, the Centro Studi Promotor has had over 50,000 radio, television and Italian and
international press coverage and services aired on research, interviewing, and quotations.

I performed and carried out an intense journalistic activity and published over 3,000 articles on
economics topics and on the automotive sector issues on newspapers and specialized journals. I
am currently editor at Il Sole 24 Ore (the main Italian economics newspaper) and collaborate with
other newspapers and magazines. I directed several magazines and am currently Director of Data
and Analysis, monthly magazine of Centro Studi Promotor, of 451, the Italian version of The New
York Review of Books magazine (which I am also publisher of) and of the specialized Auto
Aziendali Magazine and Metauto Magazine. I attended as keynote speaker or chairman at many
conventions and seminars on the car market and on economy and communication issues,
organised by several organisations including, in recent years, Studio Ambrosetti, the
representative association of the Automotive sector, Somedia (by the newspaper La Repubblica),
Cegos, Centro Studi Promotor, Car manufacturers and other Companies and entities.
