Giovanni is assistant professor in Banking at the University of Bologna, a research economist at the Yunus Social Business Centre of Bologna, and a part-time Lecturer in Finance at the Rotterdam School of Management (Erasmus University). His interests of research are related to several areas of banking and finance: the impact of government monitoring and monetary policy on banks, systemic risk, corporate governance, and sustainable finance. He has published in international finance and management journals, such as Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Financial Stability, The British Accounting Review, International Review of Financial Analysis, and Business Strategy and the Environment.
He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Bologna. In the past, he also served as Research fellow at Aston University (England) and at the University of Nottingham (England), Teaching Associate at the University of Amsterdam (Netherlands), and SCANCOR Research Affiliate at the WCFIA of Harvard University. He was one of the founders of the South Guys ltd., supported by the European Commission, and a scientific consultant for ABIFormazione.
