Giovanni is Associate Professor in Banking at the University of Bologna, research economist at its Yunus Social Business Centre, and part-time Lecturer in Finance at Rotterdam School of Management (Erasmus University). His research spans banking and finance: government monitoring and monetary policy on banks, systemic risk, corporate governance, and sustainable finance. He has published in outlets such as
Journal of Corporate Finance,
Journal of Financial Stability,
World Development,
The British Accounting Review, and
International Review of Financial Analysis. He is scientific editor for Elsevier under the Next Research program and serves on the Advisory Board of Harvard Business Review. He holds a Ph.D. from Bologna and previously served as Research Fellow at Aston and Nottingham, Teaching Associate at the University of Amsterdam, and SCANCOR Research Affiliate at Harvard WCFIA. He co-founded South Guys ltd. with European Commission support and consulted for ABIFormazione.
