Giovanna Martelli

Giovanna Martelli is Full Professor of Special Animal Husbandry at the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences (DIMEVET), University of Bologna. She is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, PhD and a European Specialist in Animal Welfare Science, Ethics and Law. Her research focuses on livestock production systems, animal welfare and the quality of products of animal origin, with particular reference to pigs, and she is involved in scientific activities at European level, including in contexts related to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
