Giancarlo Gasperoni

Full professor of General Sociology since 2006, he served in the Department of Sociology and Social Research at the University of Trento and the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Bologna, arriving at his current position in 2012. He earned a Ph.D. in Methodology of Social and Political Sciences from "La Sapienza" University in Rome and the School for Advanced International Studies (SAIS) Bologna Center Diploma for the post-graduate program in International Studies. His research interests include the sociology of education, social research methodology, voting behaviour, and the condition of immigrants. He was director of the Carlo Cattaneo Institute Research Foundation from 2002 to 2011 and editor-in-chief of the journal "Polis. Research and Studies on Society and Politics in Italy" from 2001 to 2005.
