PhD at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Bologna, he carries out his research activity in the field of ground control services and operations for small satellites. His research focuses on the definition and design of ground control systems and collision avoidance systems for Mega-constellations of small satellites.

Education

In 2022 he obtained the PhD at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Bologna, carrying out his research activity in the field of collision avoidance operations for mega-constellations of small satellites. His research has contributed to the state of the art by developing an approximate analytical solution for the orbital dynamics of satellites subject to low thrust that can be used in collision avoidance operations.

In the summer of 2018 he was a student at the summer school of the International Space University following basic courses in economics and law in the space field.

In October 2016 he graduated in aerospace engineering with honors from the University of Bologna.

In 2014 he obtained a three-year degree in aerospace engineering and participated in a practical seminar at the Italian Space Agency regarding Concurrent Engineering.

Scientific activity

From 2016 to 2018 he was a research fellow at the CIRI Aeronautica (Interdepartmental Center for Industrial Research) of the University of Bologna, carrying out his research activity in the field of micro-satellites attitude control, he developed a vision system for a nano-satellite attitude simulator.

In 2016 he held his master's thesis at Cranfield University (UK) collaborating in the development of a proposal addressed to ESA (European Space Agency) for an asteroid exploration mission.
