Education
Holds a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics (with honours) from the Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna, where she also completed her Bachelor’s degree in Genomics, both awarded cum laude.
As part of her master’s studies, she spent a research semester abroad at Sorbonne Université (Paris) through the Erasmus+ Programme, focusing on computational analysis of large-scale genomic datasets.

Academic career and research activity
Currently a PhD candidate in Data Science and Computation at the University of Bologna, within a joint project between the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) and the IRCCS Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria di Bologna (Policlinico di Sant’Orsola).
Her research focuses on computational genomics, with particular emphasis on the development and application of multi-omics analysis methods, machine learning models, and cloud infrastructures for the processing and interpretation of genomic data in biomedical research.
She carried out a research internship at the Laboratoire de Biologie Computationnelle et Quantitative (LCQB), Sorbonne Université, working on gene copy number variation (CNV) analysis in ancient and modern human populations.
Previously, she participated in a research project at Sant’Orsola-Malpighi Hospital (Bologna) focused on improving structural variant analysis pipelines for the clinical interpretation of genomic data from COVID-19 patients.

Teaching and outreach
Actively involved in science outreach and orientation events, both at the university and high school level, promoting bioinformatics and STEM disciplines.

Other activities and roles
Served as Student Representative for the Master’s degree programme in Bioinformatics at the University of Bologna (2023–2025).
