The main research topic in which Gabriele Neretti is engaged, involves the study of weakly ionized gases and non-thermal plasmas. The main research fields in which he pursues his activity are the following. In the aerospace domain he is performing numerical and experimental studies on the MHD interaction in hypersonic flows, concerning the re-entry of vehicle in atmosphere. In the aeronautical area he is studying the EHD interaction generated by a DBD plasma actuator suitable for active flow control over aerodynamic surfaces. In the plasma-tissue-engineering field he is working on the surface treatment of bio-compatible scuffled, for cell adhesion improvement, by using DBD plasmas. This plasma typology is also used for the abatement of air pollutants, as VOCs, and the sterilization of parasites as oocytes.
