Gabriele Neretti was born in Castel San Pietro Terme, Italy, on
August 9th, 1980. He received his M.S. degree in Electrical
Engineering cum laude from the University of Bologna, Bologna,
Italy, in 2005 and his PhD in Electrical Engineering in 2009 from
the University of Bologna. The PhD dissertation was “Diagnostic
techniques for EHD and MHD interaction”. In 2007 he has been a
visiting student at the Princeton University (NJ), joining the
Mechanical and Aerospace Department. Since 2006 he has been an
assistant professor in the field of Electrical Engineering (ING-IND
31). In 2009 he got a Post-Doc position at the Department of
Electrical Engineering at the University of Bologna. In 2010, 2011 and 2014 he was a lecturer of the course "Electric Circuits" at Tongji
University, Shanghai, for the course of Automation Engineering
activated by the University of Bologna. Since December 2011, he is
a permanent researcher at the DEI departement. Since the academic
year 11/12 is the lecturer of the course 'Electrotechniques T' for
the Course of Computer Engineering. Topics of its research are technical applications of weakly ionized gases in the aeronautical and biomedical domains.
