The research of Dr. Valenti is focused on electrochemistry of
molecular species and nanostructured systems. In particular, his
work is devoted to the following topics:
- Biosensors: Development of new molecular or
nanoparticles-based labels for electrochemiluminescence, study of
the electrochemiluminescence mechanisms and its applications for
the detection of tumor markers and biologically relevant species
- Electrocatalysis: new molecular and nanostructured materials
for water splitting and CO2 conversion
- Molecular electrochemistry: study of the electrochemical
properties of ruthenium and iridium coordination compounds and of
electrochemically induced reaction.
- Surface chemistry: study of surface modifications and
functionalization via electrochemical techniques and scanning probe
microscopy
