M. Gabriella Gaeta is graduate technician at DICAM since February 2021.
She holds a M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering and a Ph.D. degree in Hydraulic Engineering from the University of Bologna. During her Ph.D. studies, she was visiting student at Cornell University, Ithaca (NY, USA) and at IH-Cantabria, Santander (ES). Over the past 10 years, her scientific research have been mainly related to the fields of Coastal Engineering and Environmental Hydraulics, covering experimental and numerical studies on wave interaction with structures for coastal defense and commercial purposes (harbors, off-shore devices, submarine pipelines); wave run-up on beaches, coastal flooding and erosion risk; hydro-morphodynamics around low crested breakwaters; optimal harbor design studies with the support of wave-resolving numerical models. She is author of over 30 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and conferences.
