Education and scientific career

Graduated in Environmental Sciences in 2004 at the University of Milan (Italy), he obtained the PhD in Agricultural Engineering at the same University in 2007. After a few years as assistant researcher, in 2010 he moved to Germany where he worked as a post-doc at the University of Potsdam (Germany) and at the Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research - UFZ (Leipzig, Germany). On 2nd of May 2019 he earned the associate professor position at the University of Bologna (Italy).

Scientific activities

Author of numerous articles and contributions to conferences in the field of soil hydrology and the study of water resources in agriculture. He has participated in numerous national and international research programs. Referee of international journals in the field.

Teaching activity

Since 2010 he has been in charge of several courses at the Bachelor and Master program in soil hydrology, irrigation and drainage, field methods, data analysis and GIS, soil hydrology modeling and uncertainty and sensitivity analysis. He is currently in charge of a course for the Bachelor Degree in Sciences and Technologies for Green and Landscape and for the Master Degree Precision agriculture. He also participates at the teaching activities for PhD program in Agricultural, Environmental and Food Science and Technology.
