Short Bio

Francesco Davide Ragno is a fixed-term assistant professor (Rtd-A) in the History and Institutions of the Americas at the Department of Political and Social Sciences at the University of Bologna, where he teaches International Relations and Development in Latin America, as well as Populism in Europe and Latin America. He has been a visiting scholar at the Department of History at Columbia University (New York City), the Instituto de Relações Internacionais – Centro de Pesquisa e Documentação de História Contemporânea do Brasil - Fundação Getulio Vargas (Rio de Janeiro), and the Facultad de Humanidades y Educación – Universidad de Montevideo (Montevideo). He has also collaborated with the Centro Militare di Studi Strategici (Rome). His research focuses on the political history of Latin America in the 20th century and inter-American relations during the Cold War. He is the author of numerous academic publications, and his work also has appeared in Limes, the journal Il Mulino, Mondoperaio, and Agienergia.
