Francesco Paolucci's interest focuses on various themes of molecular, supramolecular and materials electrochemistry, on the electrochemistry of carbon nanostructures, fullerenes, carbon nanotubes and graphene and their exploitation in energy-related applications, for the development of novel diagnostic tools for cancer and heart diseases and the setup of new electroanalytical procedures for the detection of biomarkers and toxins. He has several scientific collaborations with academic research groups in Italy, Europe, North America, Japan and with industrial partners.
Since 2001 he has been leading the Electrochemistry Group (EMFM) at the Department of Chemistry, mentor, supervisor and collaborator with several PhD students (including a student en-cotutelle with the University of Bordeaux and one industrial PhD), MSc and BSc students and postdoctoral associates, and numerous visiting scientists. Six out of his former students and co-workers are now holding Faculty positions in Italy or abroad.
