Born in Termoli, CB, Italy, 1/18/1951.
Degree in Medicine and Surgery in 1974 at Bologna University,
Alma Mater Studiorum.
Post Graduate Training in General Surgery, Emergency Surgery and
Urology.
Professor of General Surgery since 10/1/2001.
Professor of Surgery at the School of Medicine of Bologna
University, Alma Mater Studiorum.
Professor of General Surgery at the Post-Graduate School of
General Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery,
Thoracic Surgery, Gynaecology and Obstetrics of Bologna University,
Alma Mater Studiorum.
Member of several National and International Scientific
Societies and President of the Italian Society for Research in
Surgery. He received the Bannò Award and the Ruggeri Award from the
SIC, the Italian Society of Surgery.
Author of over 700 scientific papers published on both
International and National Scientific Journals, Chapters on several
Surgical Textbooks, and 5 Monographies.
Personally performed over 7000 Surgical Procedures in both open
and video-assisted methods.
Chairman of I Clinica Chirurgica of S.Orsola-Malpighi University
Hospital of Bologna.
Has been Director of Post Graduate School of General Surgery
between 2005-2013.
