Towards a European Research Center for Artificial Intelligence
Together with several colleagues from the University of Bologna, we have launched a petition calling for the establishment of a European Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (ERCAI). The petition can be viewed and signed HERE.
Among the promoters and first signatories are Giorgio Parisi, Nobel Prize in Physics 2021, Geoffrey Hinton, Nobel Prize in Physics 2024, and Yoshua Bengio and Yann LeCun, who—together with Hinton—are widely regarded as the pioneers of modern artificial intelligence.
Europe risks falling irreversibly behind in a strategic field such as AI: acting now, in a coordinated and ambitious way, is essential for the continent’s scientific and technological future.
