Francesco Bianchini is an associate professor of Logic and Philosophy of Science in the Department of Philosophy. His research focuses on the philosophy of science, cognitive science, artificial intelligence, and the epistemology of mind studies. Over the years, he has explored subjects related to artificial intelligence and its philosophy, approaching them from theoretical, ethical, and historical perspectives. He has also engaged in simulative cognitive modeling, particularly in the realm of biologically inspired cognitive architectures. Additionally, he has a keen interest in various forms of inductive reasoning, with a specific emphasis on analogy and the utilization of models in scientific explanation. He is the scientific coordinator of the Knowledge and Cognition Research Center (University of Bologna). He has authored numerous publications, including articles in national and international philosophical journals.
