She got the degree in Physics cum laude in 1991 at the
University of Bologna and the PHD in Physics in 1995 at the same
University.
At present she is Associate Professor of Mathematical Physics at
the Engineering Faculty of the Bologna University. In the past she
won two annual fellowships at the FISBAT- CNR Bologna from 1997 to
1999. From 1999 to 2001 she was fellow of the Mathematical
Department of Bologna University. She became University Researcher
in Mathematical Physics in 2001 and Associate Professor in
2006.
Brini is a member of the Gruppo Nazionale di Fisica Matematica of
Istituto Nazionale di Alta Matematica and of the International
Society for the Interaction of Mechanics and Mathematics
(ISIMM).
She participated and presented her contribution (sometimes on
invitation) to many workshops and international conferences.
Her research activity is related to both dynamical systems and,
more recently, to non-linear propagation and non-equilibrium
thermodynamics. In the last years she worked on these topics both
from an analytical and a numerical point of view, obtaining
relevant results concerning problems on bounded domains and the
asymptotic behavior of the solutions of dissipative hyperbolic
systems with convex entropy.
