Curriculum vitae

PhD student in Veterinary Medical Sciences, Animal Health curriculum. My research focuses on the health of farmed fish, with particular attention to the diagnosis and surveillance of infectious and parasitic diseases affecting the main fish species of the Mediterranean.

PhD research topic:
“Surveillance and advanced diagnosis of gill diseases in farmed fish to support blue growth in a climate change scenario.”

Supervisor: Professor Monica Caffara; Co-supervisor: Professor Andrea Gustinelli.

Main experiences:

  • 2024 – 2025 | Research fellow, Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences, University of Bologna – Project “Integrated health management and pathogen surveillance in fish and molluscs farmed in mariculture facilities.”
    Research activities focused on health management and pathogen surveillance in mariculture farms.

  • 2024 | Curricular internship, CREA – Animal Production and Aquaculture (Monterotondo, RM).
    Field experience including company visits, training courses, and practical activities in aquaculture.

  • 2023 | Curricular internship, Infectious Diseases and Veterinary Public Health Service, University of Bologna.
    Laboratory activities and anatomical-pathological diagnosis on fish species, focusing on fish pathology and infectious diseases.

  • 2018–2019 | Erasmus+, University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), Albacete, Spain.
    Study period abroad during the bachelor’s degree in Food Technologies, with insights into agriculture, aquaculture, and animal production.
