EDUATION, CAREER AND RESEARCH AREAS.
Graduated in Semiotics from Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna, Flavio Valerio Alessi holds a PhD in the Philosophy, Science, Cognition, and Semiotics (PSCS) program. He is currently a research fellow for the PRIN SACRe-D project (Schizophrenia, Autism, and the Myth of Creativity: An Interdisciplinary Perspective on Psychopathological Expression and its Digitalization).
His research interests include interpretative and cultural semiotics, particularly focusing on the relationships between public science communication and the processes of acquiring and circulating scientific knowledge, and cognitive semiotics, with a specific interest in autism spectrum disorders.
He has participated in the European Project NeMo (New Monitoring guidelines to develop innovative early childhood education and care (ECEC) teachers curricula), and teaches two semiotics courses at NABA in Rome.
